General Cleaning of High Voltage Installations
Assignment: TRUEWORK Facility Solutions, in addition to its many years of experience in large-scale and special requirements assignments, has also undertaken projects of increased occupational risk, requiring extreme precision and strict adherence to safety rules. The company “ALSTOM TRANSPORT”, a leader in the field of Fixed Wheels, entrusted the company for such a high-risk mission: General Cleaning of the facilities of the “Kernels of Northern Greece” in Thessaloniki, in combination with disinfestation and maintenance of the surrounding green area. This cooperation was based on the trust that had already been cultivated by the successful provision of daily cleaning services in the office areas.
Organization: the TRUEWORK Facility Solutions staff, after a detailed on-site study, determined the high degree of risk of this mission due to the existence of high voltage facilities in the “Cores”. A special operational action plan was drawn up, adapted to the technical and operational peculiarities of the sites, while a fully qualified and certified crew with experience in similar conditions was formed. The difficulty of the mission was compounded by the limited accessibility of certain parts of the premises, making precise coordinated action necessary.
Work Programme:
- General cleaning of internal and external surfaces in the Core areas, with equipment suitable for high-voltage environments
- Cleaning of hard-to-reach areas with the use of assistive devices (stairs, platforms)
- Full application of fumigation in all external areas of the facilities
- Maintenance and cleaning of the green environment with the assistance of a geotechnical staff
- Use of approved cleaning products and insecticides, in accordance with the safety standards.
Execution: The works were carried out under a strict safety regime, observing all necessary Personal Protective Equipment and accident prevention procedures. The General Cleaning of the high-voltage facilities was carried out under the continuous supervision of a qualified TRUEWORK Facility Solutions Foreman, from the start to the completion of the project. At the same time, our technical staff successfully completed all additional work in the surrounding area.
