  1. Purpose of Processing and Legal Basis:

We use a surveillance system for the purpose of protecting individuals and property. The processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us as the data controller (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).

  1. Analysis of Legitimate Interests:

Our legitimate interest lies in the need to protect our premises and the property located therein from unlawful acts, such as theft. The same applies to the safety of life, physical integrity, health, and property of our staff and third parties who are lawfully present in the monitored area. We collect only image data and limit surveillance to areas where there is an increased likelihood of unlawful acts occurring—e.g., at our cash registers and entrances—without focusing on areas where individuals’ privacy may be excessively restricted, including their right to the protection of personal data.

  1. Recipients

The recorded material is accessible only by our authorized personnel responsible for the security of the premises. This material is not disclosed to third parties, except in the following cases: a) To the competent judicial, prosecutorial, and police authorities when it contains information necessary for investigating a criminal offense related to persons or property of the data controller. b) To the competent judicial, prosecutorial, and police authorities upon lawful request in the exercise of their duties. c) To the victim or perpetrator of a criminal act, when the data may serve as evidence of the act.

  1. Retention Period

We retain the data for seven (7) days, after which it is automatically deleted. If an incident is identified within this period, we isolate the relevant part of the video and retain it for up to one (1) additional month in order to investigate the incident and initiate legal proceedings to defend our legitimate interests. If the incident involves a third party, we may retain the video for up to three (3) additional months.

  1. Rights of Data Subjects

Data subjects have the following rights:

  • Right of Access: You have the right to know if we are processing your image, and if so, to receive a copy of it.
  • Right to Restriction: You have the right to request that we restrict processing, for example, not deleting data that you deem necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
  • Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing.
  • Right to Erasure: You have the right to request the deletion of your data.

You can exercise your rights by sending an email to info@truework.gr, mailing a letter to our postal address, or submitting the request in person at our office. To review a request related to your image, you must specify approximately when you were within the camera’s range and provide an image of yourself to assist us in identifying your data and obscuring the data of third-party individuals. Alternatively, we offer you the option to visit our facilities to view the images in which you appear.

Please note that exercising the right to object or request deletion does not automatically lead to the immediate deletion of data or modification of the processing. In any case, we will respond to you in detail as soon as possible, within the timeframes set by the GDPR.
  1. Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you believe that the processing of your data violates Regulation (EU) 2016/679, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

The competent supervisory authority for Greece is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, located at Kifisias 1-3, 115 23, Athens, https://www.dpa.gr/, tel. +30 2106475600.
